The Arogya Foundation for the Disabled was born to support disabled people in Sri Lanka enables people with disabilities to improve their life skills. Founded three years ago, the Foundation continues to render their service all over the country and nearly 150 patients have been received necessary medical equipments such as crutches, walking sticks, wheel chairs, etc. The Foundation is a non-profit organization, founded by Rev Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero and registered in Sri Lanka in year 2008.

Arogya Foundation to Build Hi-Tech Rehabilitation Hospital in Sri Lanka




















“Doctors are next to God. There is no incurable under the Sun. The developed Science and Technology should find a way to counter any kind of disease. As we enter the first decade of the 21st century, the focus of the medical attention has shifted towards the challenges of improving the quality of the people ” 

Dr. Prem Pillay the Chief Neurosurgeon at Mount Elizabeth and Gleneagles Hospitals in Singapore made these observation at a press conference organized by Arogya Foundation for The Disabled in Sri Lanka to announce that the Foundation to build a hi-tech rehabilitation medical centre for disabled in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan as well as foreign donators and institutions should assist this worthy task. If a patient goes to Singapore for treatments he will have to incur an exorbitant expenditure of rupees five to six lakhs. This is not affordable for poor patients. We are ready to help in this connection by coming to Sri Lanka at our own expenses. Dr.Prem Pillay address at the occasion.

The Director General of “Arogya Foundation” Ven.Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero made the welcome speech and The Chief advisor of the foundation Rajakeeya Panditha  Ven. Udahamulle Saranapala Thero delivered the anusasana.

Dr. Prem Pillai and a group of Singaporean doctors have volunteered to make free consultations and visit to the proposed rehabilitation centre till the Sri Lankan Doctors are been trained in the relevant field. They have volunteered to train Neurosurgeons in Sri Lanka as a serveice with the help of Sri Lankan Government.

The Chairman of the Arogya Foundation Prof.Ariyapala Perera and Secretary Dr.K.A.L Dilini were also present at this occasion and made speeches to make this effort success.
